Chivas USA loans Gabriel Farfan to Chiapas

The reworking of Chivas USA continues.

A week after parting ways with Juan Agudelo in a trade with the New England Revolution, Chivas USA made yet another roster move, sending its first-round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft and allocation money to the Philadelphia Union in exchange for versatile midfielder Gabriel Farfan, the club announced on Tuesday.

Farfan, who is separated from twin brother and Union midfielder Michael Farfan in the deal, had played in six games this season, making three starts and filling in at left back for John Hackworth's side. In his third season in MLS, Gabriel Farfan has a goal and three assists to his name. He also has one red card, which was received while playing against Chivas USA last season for a rash two-footed challenge.

Farfan will be eligible to play for Jose Luis Sanchez Sola's side against Real Salt Lake on Sunday, according to a club statement.
