Chivas USA has announced the acquisition of New Zealand international defender Tony Lochhead via discovery. Per club and league policy, terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
The 32-year-old left back was signed from A-League side Wellington Phoenix, where he set the all-time club record by participating in 131 matches over five seasons.
Lochhead was selected by the New England Revolution with the 33rd overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, and spent two seasons with the Revs before returning to his homeland in 2007.
Internationally, Lochhead has been capped 43 times for New Zealand, including appearances in the 2010 World Cup, 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cup qualifiers, and the 2009 Confederations Cup.
