Chivas and Colorado swap LaBrocca and Avila

Chivas USA and the Colorado Rapids shifted a pair of players on Tuesday evening, Chivas trading Nick LaBrocca to the Rapids in exchange for Eric Avila.

Former U.S. youth international Avila, 25, had not spent long with the Rapids before the deal, having only joined the club in the Dec. 14 Re-entry draft. He was drafted by FC Dallas in 2008, and was eventually traded to Toronto FC in 2011.

LaBrocca, 28, will start his second stint with the Rapids. He spent the 2007-2010 seasons in Colorado before being traded to Toronto in 2010. He was then traded to Chivas in 2011.
