China (3-0) led by two at the half and scored 22 of the first 26 points in the third quarter to blow the game open. Ma scored five straight with a three-point play and layup that made it 48-33 with 3:58 left in the period. China cruised the rest of the way.

Sonia Guadalupe scored 12 points to lead Angola (0-3), which was looking for the second Olympic victory in women's basketball by an African nation. Nigeria beat Korea in 2004 for the lone win.
