Chiefs WR Bowe diagnosed with concussion

The SportsXchange

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe left practice Thursday and was diagnosed with a concussion.

According to the Kansas City Star, Bowe was on the field with the team Thursday, and he reported concussion-like symptoms before the ailment was confirmed.

Bowe is likely to sit out the Chiefs' regular-season finale Sunday in San Diego against the Chargers. The game is essentially meaningless to Kansas City, which previously clinched a playoff berth and is locked in to the AFC's No. 5 seed.

Bowe apparently was hurt Sunday when he was hit in the head on a play that drew a personal-foul penalty. He was not listed on the Wednesday injury report.

In 15 games this season, Bowe has 57 receptions for 673 yards and five touchdowns. He caught five passes for 46 yards last week against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Star reported that the only other Chiefs player to miss practice Thursday was outside linebacker Tambi Hali (knee).
