The Chiefs announced on Wednesday that they have signed free-agent WR Zeke Markshausen.

The 5-11, 185-pound Markshausen spent time on Kansas City's practice squad after entering training camp with the Chiefs in 2011. He also appeared in training camp with the Bears in 2010.

He played in 27 games at Northwestern, catching 92 passes for 864 yards with three touchdowns. He added four carries for nine yards during his collegiate career. As a senior, he registered 91 receptions for 858 yards with three scores. His 91 catches were the second-highest seasonal total in Northwestern history.
