Chiefs reach deal with veteran Elam

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of veteran safety Abram Elam on Monday.

Elam started 16 games for the Dallas Cowboys a year ago, and has also spent time with the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns in his six-year career.

For his NFL career, Elam has five sacks, 365 tackles and three interceptions, including one returned for a 92-yard touchdown.
