Chiefs RB Charles leaves game

The SportsXchange

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles left Saturday's AFC wild card playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts early in the first quarter with a concussion.

The Chiefs ruled out Charles for the rest of the game. He was replaced by rookie Knile Davis.

Charles was injured when his head hit the turf as he was tackled by Colts cornerback Greg Toler on a seven-yard run. Charles was helped off the field and was examined by team doctors. He was later taken to the locker room.

Charles led the conference with 1,287 rushing yards and paced the team with 70 catches for 693 yards and seven touchdowns. He led the NFL with 19 total touchdowns.
