Chiefs to put Dorsey on injured reserve

National Football Post

The Kansas City Chiefs are putting defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve, effectively ending the so-so tenure of the former first-round pick with the club.

Dorsey can be a free agent at season's end, and is unlikely to be brought back to the Chiefs, who may be headed for a major overhaul, thanks to a dismal 1-8 record, according to the Kansas City Star.

Dorsey, who suffered a calf injury against San Diego, will be replaced on the roster by defensive back Neiko Thorpe, who has been promoted from the practice squad.

Dorsey was the fifth pick of the 2008 draft, but never became the dominant defensive lineman the Chiefs envisioned when they selected him that high.
