Chiefs add Toub to coaching staff

The Chiefs have announced that OT Ray Willis has decided to retire from the NFL.

Willis, who played in 44 games (26 starts) in five seasons with the Seahawks, signed with the Chiefs after Tony Ugoh decided to retire. Willis also spent time on the rosters of the Dolphins, Saints and Jets.

The Chiefs are a bit thin now at offensive tackle after projected starters Branden Albert and Eric Winston. Third-round OT Donald Stephenson figures to be the team’s top reserve as a swing tackle.

The way we see it

Although this is not a major blow, the Chiefs might seek to sign some additional help. It’s possible that David Mims’ chances of making the roster also are better now. He spent much of last season on the team's practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Union.
