Chiefs cut Breaston, Boss

Wide receiver Steve Breaston and tight end Kevin Boss were released by the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced Tuesday.

Breaston, who caught only seven passes for 74 yards last season, caught 61 passes the year before. He had three years left on a five-year, $23 million deal. He was brought in as part of a new offense by former coach Todd Haley two years ago.

Boss played two games for the Chiefs last season before he was sidelined for the season with a concussion. He had previously started for the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders.
