Chiefs coach Crennel names QB Quinn starter

Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel told reporters in his weekly press conference Monday that he will start Brady Quinn at quarterback this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Quinn replaces Matt Cassel, who has struggled and missed a game because of a concussion.

"Brady Quinn is the guy I want to go with," Crennel said.

The Chiefs (1-5) are coming off a bye. They lost their last game, 38-10, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Quinn completed 22 of 38 passes for 180 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions with Cassel out.

Crennel said he give Quinn time to develop into his new role.

"I want (Quinn) to be the starting quarterback without looking over his shoulder," he said.
