Chiefs CB Flowers expected to face Dolphins

The SportsXchange

Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers took part in practice all week and is expected to make his season debut at Miami on Sunday after being medically cleared.

Flowers has been out since suffering a foot injury July 31, and with backup Jalil Brown also out last week that forced Jacques Reeves into the starting lineuup.

"I think the more they can do, the better we can feel about them," Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said of Flowers and Brown on Friday.

However, how much of a workload Flowers can potentially handle after being sidelined six weeks remains to be seen.

"I think that you have to kind of temper it and know that conditioning will be a factor, and if the guy is able to play, you may have to monitor his reps," Crennel said. "Then, some of that will depend on how the game goes. Probably asking him to play 100 plays would not be the thing to do, but if you can mix in here and there and give him a break now and then, then maybe he can get through a game."
