Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Chicago Bears' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Jay Cutler, QB
Cutler finished the week earning just 6.84 fantasy points in a win over the Carolina Panthers. This week he faces a Tennessee Titans' defense that has given up a total of 166.00 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Even with a good matchup this week, Cutler's play is far too inconsistent from a fantasy perspective. He is getting sacked, is throwing picks, and fumbling the football far too often. Look for around 12.00 fantasy points this week.
Matt Forte, RB
Forte finished the week earning 15.40 fantasy points against the Panthers. This week he faces a Titans' defense that has given up a total of 203.80 fantasy points to running backs this season. With Cutler struggling and Michael Bush's diminishing role, Forte is poised for another big game this week. Look for at least 14.00 fantasy points against a weak Tennessee defense.
Brandon Marshall, WR
Marshall finished the week earning 9.80 fantasy points against Carolina. This week he faces a Tennessee defense that has allowed a total of 183.10 fantasy points to wide receivers this season. With Marshall being Cutler's primary target he is always in a solid position for a strong game. However, his success depends on the success of Cutler's air attack, which is iffy at best. Marshall is still a quality candidate in most formats so expect at least 9.00 fantasy points this week.
Chicago finished the week earning 12.00 fantasy points against the Panthers. This week they face a Titans' team that has given up a total of 70.00 fantasy points to team defense this season. Chicago is hands-down the best fantasy team defense this season by leaps and bounds. In their worst performance of the season in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers, they scored just 9.00 fantasy points. They have scored at least 23 fantasy points three times this season. Yet again they have a very favorable matchup where at least 12.00 fantasy points can be expected.
