I've been a Chicago Bears fan my entire life. I've grown up being indoctrinated that Walter Payton was the greatest running back of all time, the 1985 Bears were the best team in NFL history, that the Green Bay Packers are arch-enemies, and that the Detroit Lions, until recently, don't warrant much attention unless they're playing the Bears. While I don't necessarily agree with all of the above, I am, through and through, a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. However, I've never been of the opinion that because you're a fan of a certain team that that means you inherently trash every other team. In all actuality, I trash the Bears way more than I trash any other team. Call it a "Because I Care" reaction.
However, I also love football --not just as it pertains to the Bears. In light of that, below are a few teams who I find great enjoyment in watching (and even rooting for).
Buffalo BillsThe Bills are just easy to root for. They find themselves in a division with the continually better-than-them New England Patriots, and the louder-than-a-freight-train New York Jets. Given the Bills tough history, they're a team you can easily support when the chips are down. Even from the outside, we can see the loyalty of those fans and know that when the Lombardi trophy is lifted in Buffalo, everyone on the scene will have earned it, even if only by doing the time.
The Bears have my football loyalty. They always will. But if the Bears aren't in the picture, there is plenty to like about many other teams competing in the sport we love. Just look for them.
