Matt Forte had a big day but it wasn't enough to avoid a loss for the Bears against the Redskins, 45-41, in Landover.
Josh McCown went 14 out of 20 for 204 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions. Robert Griffin III completed 18 of 29 passes for 298 yards, two touchdowns and one pick for the Redskins.
Forte was a standout player for the Bears, rushing for 91 yards on 16 attempts with three scores in addition to two receptions for 18 yards. In the third quarter, he broke for a 50-yard sprint for a score. Alshon Jeffery was a top performer, snagging four passes for 105 yards.
The Chicago defense collapsed, giving up 290 yards passing and 209 rushing. They tackled Griffin III for a sack.
Redskins tight end Jordan Reed could not be contained, putting up 134 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Roy Helu Jr. also had a good game with 41 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
The Bears travel to Green Bay next week to meet the Packers (3-2) while the Redskins visit Denver to take on the Broncos (6-0).
