Chase Headley: (Thumb) Timetable Now At 4-to-6 Weeks

Rotowire.com
Update: Headley (thumb) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Padres GM Josh Byrnes called the reported four week estimate for Headley's return "optimistic," and said the team is hearing it will take four-to-six weeks. Headley suffered a fracture to the tip of his left thumb after sliding into second base on an attempt to break up a double-play Sunday, but he will not need surgery. With Jedd Gyorko seemingly taking over second base, Logan Forsythe is the likely candidate to fill in at third.
