The Chargers announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed C Nick Hardwick to a three-year contract. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Hardwick is the most experienced member of a Chargers front five that lost OG Kris Dielman to retirement earlier in the offseason. The center has started 103 games for the team since 2003.
The team also announced that it tendered restricted free-agent OT Brandyn Dombrowski and exclusive-rights free agents WR Richard Goodman and LS Mike Windt.
The way we see it
The Hardwick re-signing was expected, and likely a relief to the Chargers to get it done before free agency begins. Hardwick is a solid lineman and has a good relationship with QB Philip Rivers. With so many other changes expected on the San Diego offense, keeping the man in the middle was important for the team.
