Chargers RB Ryan Mathews fractured his left clavicle in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers and is likely done for the season, the team announced.
Mathews broke his right clavicle in the preseason and missed the first two games of the regular season.
This injury occurred in the second quarter when Mathews was tackled after a reception.
In his third NFL season, Mathews had 180 carries for 685 yards and one rushing touchdown in 11 games. He had 36 catches for 244 yards. RBs Ronnie Brown, Jackie Battle and Curtis Brinkley will likely handle the load in the Chargers’ final two games.
