Chargers place LB English on IR

The San Diego Chargers placed linebacker Larry English on injured reserve with a biceps injury suffered in last Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, the team announced Tuesday.

The roster spot was taken by free agent linebacker Adrian Robinson.

English's injury was another blow for the Chargers' pass rushers.

Melvin Ingram hasn't made it to the field after an Achilles injury, Dwight Freeney was lost for the year early in the regular season and Jarret Johnson has been battling injuries all season. Now English is done for the year.

English, who was the team's 2009 first-round pick, had 2 1/2 sacks this season.

Robinson was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Philadelphia Eagles for running back Felix Jones in the preseason, but wound up with Denver off of waivers. He played six games for the Broncos before getting cut last month.
