Chargers interested in Arians

After firing Norv Turner as their coach on Monday, the San Diego Chargers are interested in Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians as a possible replacement, according to the NFL Network.

Fired coaches Andy Reid (Philadelphia Eagles) and Ken Whisenhunt (Arizona Cardinals) are also rumored candidates.

Arians, who filled in for Chuck Pagano while he took a leave from the team because of his leukemia diagnosis, went 9-3. The Colts finished the season 10-6 and are headed to the playoffs.

Pagano said he endorses Arians as a head coach.

"Interest in Bruce Arians? If someone calls, he's earned any phone call, has earned that right," he told the Indianapolis Star. "We do not want to lose Bruce Arians."

Pagano's brother, John, is the Chargers defensive coordinator.
