Keenan Allen had a big day for the offense, but it was not enough to avoid a loss for the Chargers against the Bengals, 17-10, at home.
Philip Rivers went 23 out of 37 for 252 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick. Andy Dalton completed 14 of 23 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown and one pick for the Bengals.
Ryan Mathews gained 61 yards on 14 carries in addition to five receptions for 31 yards. Allen caught eight balls for 106 yards and one fumble.
The San Diego defense gave up 164 yards rushing and 190 passing.
Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis churned out 92 yards rushing and one touchdown. Wide receiver A.J. Green was also solid with 83 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Chargers will play host to the Giants (4-7) next week while the Bengals play against the Colts (8-4), also at home.
