The Chargers, who lost S Steve Gregory in free agency to the Patriots earlier in the week, have compensated for it by signing free-agent S Atari Bigby. The contract is for two years.
Bigby will likely get the first crack at a starting job alongside All-Pro FS Eric Weddle. The former Seahawk started two games for Seattle last season and recorded 18 tackles (10 of them on special teams) and one sack.
The 30-year-old Bigby played six seasons with the Packers prior to playing with the Seahawks in 2011. His best season came in 2007, when he started all 16 games for Green Bay and recorded 86 tackles and five interceptions.
