Chance Warmack wants A.J. McCarron in Tennessee

Unless he's unseated in training camp, Jake Locker will be Tennessee's starting quarterback when the season opens.

But one of his offensive linemen is hoping the Titans bring in a quarterback he's familiar with. Guard Chance Warmack, appearing on the NFL Network, said that he'd like for Tennessee to draft Alabama quarterback and former college teammate A.J. McCarron at some point in the draft.

McCarron is projected to be a mid-rounder at this time.

"I hope we get him," Warmack said. "I don't know what round we can get him in, but I definitely want him in Tennessee. He's a winner. He's a great guy to be around and he'll help the locker room. He's not selfish as a quarterback and he's going to make the right plays on the field. If he doesn't start, when he gets drafted by the Tennessee Titans he'll definitely help."

McCarron guided the Crimson Tide to two consecutive national championships in 2011 and 2012. Warmack was on both of those teams.

These comments can be taken with a grain of salt, though. Clearly, Warmack would want a former teammate and friend to be on his team. That doesn't necessarily mean he'd absolutely prefer to have McCarron over Locker as the starting quarterback for the Titans.

If Locker puts in a solid season in a contract year, proving he can be a starting NFL quarterback, Warmack will be just fine with him leading the offense.
