Champions League Matchday 3 - Bayern leads night of big blowouts

If you like attacking soccer, then Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League was for you.

The eight games combined for 40 goals, the most in Champions League history for an eight-match slate, as some of Europe's biggest clubs enjoyed lopsided victories.

Bayern Munich led 5-0 at halftime en route to a 7-1 demolition of Roma, Chelsea rolled to a 6-0 triumph over NK Maribor and Barcelona cruised to a 3-1 win over Ajax that featured Lionel Messi's 69th Champions League goal, just two away from Raul's all-time mark.

But the man of the matches was Luiz Adriano. The Brazilian striker became only the second player to score five goals in a Champions League game in leading Shakhtar Donetsk to a 7-0 pummeling of BATE Borisov.
