Chael Sonnen Says Anderson Silva Has 'Amateur' Skills and 'He Sucks': Fan's Look

UFC middleweight contender, Chael Sonnen, joined Fuel TV's "UFC Tonight" to address the aggressive remarks made by UFC middleweight champion, Anderson "the Spider" Silva on a UFC conference call (Monday, June 25, 2012). Chael responded by saying that Anderson has amateur boxing skills and then summarized his opinion by saying, "He sucks."

Kenny Florian: "That's a lot of bones he wants to break."

Anderson said that he intends to break Chael's arms, legs and teeth and leave him in such a state that he has to have help leaving the octagon. "I'm going to beat him maybe the way his parents should have beat him to teach him some manners. Because he's disrespectful, he's a criminal and I'm going to beat him like he's never been beaten before."

"That's a lot of bones he wants to break," show host and former UFC fighter, Kenny Florian said. "Two things could happen. Either it's going to fire him up, he's going to be motivated to train harder in his training camp and to go out there and destroy Chael Sonnen--or he's going to get too fired up, too emotional and that will take him away from his game plan and allow Chael Sonnen to do exactly what he wants to do."

Chael Sonnen: "The guy's a dirt bag."

Chael Sonnen's response: "It was nice to see the real Anderson come through and like I've told you for years, the guy's a dirt bag."

Chael is not concerned about Anderson's threats to break his bones and teeth. Chael said that he's fought 49 men already--obviously they had similar intentions. "It's not like I've never had my jaw reset...I've had my scalp stapled shut...I kind of expect it. He was one off from saying he would give me a knuckle sandwich. Duh! We're in the middle of a cage fight, dummy."

Kenny asked Sonnen why he said that Anderson has amateur skills. Sonnen responded, "On day one of boxing class, you're taught to keep your hands up and your chin down. He goes out there with his chin up and his hands down. That's amateur at best...it's just very hard to hide the fact that he sucks."

Matt Serra Video Blog with Chael Sonnen (and Ray Longo)

Here's a different look at Chael Sonnen in his quieter moments when he's not trash-talking Anderson Silva. Former UFC welterweight champion, Matt Serra, is featured in a UFC produced video blog along with his MMA coach and best buddy, Ray Longo. The non-stop, Ray Longo stories that pour out of Matt's mouth are hilarious. After marveling over a new piece of training equipment that Chael has in his house, Matt said, "This is the future, man. Longo's gonna be out of a job."

Nearly 16 minutes of Matt visiting Team Quest in Oregon with Chael, eating pizza at Chael's pizza restaurant and hanging out at Chael's crib. "Fight Camp Insider with Matt Serra - Chael Sonnen Episode" video

UFC 148: Silva vs Sonnen 2

If the second fight looks anything like the first one, Chael Sonnen has a strong chance of becoming the champion.

Even if Anderson gets Chael in another triangle hold and defeats him, I'll be ready to see these two fighters match up again. Chael is the only one who has even gotten close to defeating Anderson. And he is the only fighter to ruffle Anderson and get under his skin.

Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva 2 happens in Las Vegas on July 7th, 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET on pay-per-view.
