CFB Roundup: Manziel ends tweeting, Neal to transfer from Notre Dame

There'll be no more Twitter for Johnny Football -- at least for the time being.

Texas A&M quarterback winner Johnny Manziel has sworn off using Twitter because he says it's too distracting. He closed down his account on Monday.

"I just shut everything off," the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner said, according to ESPN. "I said I was done with it for however long. It's fun to have, but it can get to be distracting at points."

Much has been made of Manziel's decision to take all of his classes online this spring because of the attention his new-found fame brought when he was on campus. He also has been seen at NBA games, on vacation during break in Mexico and attending Mardi Gras.

--Freshman wide receiver Davonte' Neal will be transferring from Notre Dame, his father told Blue and Gold Illustrated.

The university has yet to confirm Neal's request, but Luke Neal said his son has informed Notre Dame's coaching staff.

"The reason for Davonte's transfer is that he's the father of a six-week-old baby girl with his girlfriend that he has dated since seventh grade," Luke Neal told Blue and Gold. "The plan was to move his girlfriend and his baby to South Bend, but Davonte' just felt the need to be closer to his family and his girlfriend's family at this time."

Neal's father expects his son to transfer to a school in California. When Neal signed last February with Notre Dame, his finalists also included Arizona, North Carolina and Arkansas.
