MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) -- Blake Hibbits scored 19 points and Braylon Rashawn added 18 as Central Michigan finished strong to beat Austin Peay 90-75 on Thursday night.
The Chippewas (2-2) took a 39-33 lead into the second half, then caught fire and pulled away to lead by as many as 19 points, with Rashawn at one point scoring eight points in a row.
John Simons scored 12 for the Chippewas, Chris Fowler added 11 and was 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Central Michigan shot 92.3 percent from the free-throw line on 24-of-26 shooting and made eight of 27 three-point attempts.
The Governors (2-2) were hurt by 18 turnovers and shot poorly in the first period, but kept it close by making five of 11 three-point attempts until Central Michigan began its second-half run.
Travis Betran led with 16 points, Will Triggs had 12 and Zavion Williams added 10.
