With the losses of guards Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless to injuries, the Boston Celtics will sign guard Vander Blue to a 10-day contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Blue, 21, scored 35 points for the Delaware 87ers in the NBA Development League on Monday.
After playing three seasons at Marquette, Blue left school early for the 2013 NBA draft and went unselected. The Philadelphia 76ers signed him to a training-camp contract, but released him in October.
In four games in the D-League, Blue averaged 19 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Bradley suffered a sprained ankle in the Celtics' loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, and it's immediately unclear how long he'll be out of the lineup. Bayless could miss several games with a toe injury. While starting point guard Rajon Rondo has returned to the Celtics lineup, he'll be on a minutes restriction for several weeks.
