Celtics finally get Green deal completed

More than a month after Jeff Green participated in a press conference to announce he had reached an agreement on a contract with the Boston Celtics, the two sides got the deal completed on Thursday.

Green missed last season after having surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm, and a source told the Boston Herald there were insurance issues that needed to be addressed in the contract.

The contract is a four-year deal for $36 million.

Green, 25, averaged 9.8 points in 26 games for the Celtics in 2010-2011 after averaging 14.8 points in 49 games for Oklahoma City in that season before being traded.

"We are thrilled to be able to have Jeff back with the Celtics," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said in a statement. "Jeff's versatility on offense and ability to guard players out on the perimeter is something that we are looking forward to having on the court this season."
