Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that forward Chris Wilcox will be out three to four weeks with a sprained right thumb.

The team announced Monday that they promoted Jarvis Varnado from Sioux Falls of the D-League to take Wilcox's spot on the roster.

Varnado appeared in 10 games for the SkyForce and averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and a league-best 3.9 blocks in 30.5 minutes per game.

Wilcox is averaging 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for Boston.
