You’d think that fellow players would have seen how New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was railroaded by the NFL despite no decent evidence in deflate-gate and worry that could be them. It seemed like the kind of thing that could unite players against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

But there are still some who aren’t too supportive of Brady, like Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.

“(Y)ou follow what the rule book says and go about your business and your work and if they tell you not to do it and you get busted and what happens happens then you suffer the consequences,” Palmer said, according to CSN New England.

You get busted and what happens happens then you suffer the consequences? Yeesh, someone didn’t pick through the gaping holes of the Wells Report. Brady is suspended for the first four games this season.

“I’m sure you guys look at it a lot differently but I know a lot of players around the league just looking at it … ” Palmer said.

CSNNE wrote that at that point Palmer “stopped and seemed to veer away from saying most players agreed with him.”

“I don’t know if you can feel too strongly about it one way or the other,” Palmer finished.

Palmer said he didn’t follow the story closely because he was “so sick of hearing about it” (join the club, Carson) but seemed to know bits and pieces of what happened. And he wasn’t too sympathetic to his fellow quarterback.

“Whatever the league comes down upon and whatever ruling they make is what they make,” Palmer said, according to CSNNE. “You don’t have much of a decision after that and you can fight it for a little bit but after a while, you just gotta abide by what they say.”

It’s probably a good thing that Arizona’s game against the Patriots on Sunday night is at home, because the people of Massachusetts aren’t fans of anyone who doesn’t believe in Brady’s innocence.
