Carroll: Injured Browner will miss extended time

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told ESPN 710 radio in Seattle Monday that cornerback Brandon Browner will miss extended time with a groin injury.

Browner did not play in the Seahawks' 33-10 rout of the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

"Browner's hurt. He's going to be down for a bit," Carroll said. "We don't how extensive it is, but it could be quite a while."

Defensive back Walter Thurmond had an expanded role in Browner's absence. Browner also missed the first two games of the regular season. Defensive back Byron Maxwell might also get more playing time.

Seattle hosts the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
