Carrier Classic officials claim that they have found an "engineering solution" to the moisture problem that that forced the cancellation of Friday's Ohio State-Marquette game aboard the USS Yorktown, according to a Charleston Post & Courier report.
The solution "should prevent similar problems when the Carrier Classic returns to the Yorktown on Nov. 8, 2013," event promoter Mike Whalen told the paper, who declined to reveal what the solution is.
Whalen and Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette said that they are in talks on a three-year deal to keep the Carrier Classic on the aircraft carrier. Whalen said that he plans to bring the men's and women's games to the Yorktown next year, "pending approval by the Patriots Point Development Authority Board."
