Cardinals, top pick agree on contract

First-round draft pick Jonathan Cooper agreed to a four-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Sunday.

The fully guaranteed contract is worth $14.55 million and includes payments of $3.4 million within 10 days, $3 million by Sept. 15 and $2.56 million by Oct. 15. ESPN reported. According to CBSSports.com, Cooper's contract structure is similar to No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher of the Kansas City Chiefs and includes a more attractive signing bonus structure.

Cooper, a guard, was the seventh overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft out of North Carolina,. where he was a consensus first-team All-American who started a school-record 48 games. He had missed the first two days of the Cardinals' training camp while the contract was worked out.

With Cooper agreeing to terms, the only remaining unsigned first-round picks around the NFL are New York Jets cornerback Dee Milliner (ninth overall) and Tennessee Titans guard Chance Warmack (10th overall).
