Cardinals place 1B Adams on DL

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a strained oblique muscle.
The club called up infielder Jermaine Curtis from Class AAA Memphis.
Adams has not played since Sunday. The move is retroactive to Monday.
He is batting .542 with a 1.634 OPS in 24 at-bats this year.
