Cardinals fine DE Dockett $200,000

The Arizona Cardinals fined defensive end Darnell Dockett $200,000 for conduct detrimental to the team, NFL.com reported Friday.

The fine stems from an on-field argument that occurred between Dockett and teammate Kerry Rhodes and coaches on the Cardinals' staff during last Sunday's 7-6 loss to the New York Jets.

Dockett reportedly disagreed with the decision to let the Jets score late so that the Cardinals could have a final offensive possession. But on the ensuing play, Jets running back Shonn Greene ran to the 1-yard line before kneeling down so that the clock ran out.

Dockett reportedly spit on Rhodes during the argument. But Rhodes denied that happened.

"Yes, we had a disagreement on the field but, no he did NOT spit in my face," Rhodes wrote in an e-mail released by the team Tuesday. "I'm not going to get into all the details because I think those are things you keep within the team. But Darnell and I talked after the game, we're both moving on and I'll leave it at that."

The NFL Players Association is in the process of filing a grievance against the team, according to NFL.com.

Dockett thanked the NFLPA via Twitter and included "I ain't got no worries" in his message.

The Cardinals signed Dockett, 31, to a six-year, $56 million contract in 2010.
