49ers LB Haggans suspended three games

The Cardinals announced that they have released 18 players, including veteran OLB Clark Haggans.

Others released by the team were: CB Crezdon Butler, LB Antonio Coleman, S Blake Gideon, OG Russ Hochstein, DT Ricky Lumpkin, LB Colin Parker, CB Larry Parker, WR DeMarco Sampson, TE Steve Skelton, RB Alfonso Smith, LB Quan Sturdivant, DE Ronald Talley, DE Everrette Thompson, TE Martell Webb, C Scott Wedige, WR Isaiah Williams and OT D.J. Young.

In addition, the team has also placed QB Richard Bartel (shoulder) and RB Javarris James (knee) on injured reserve and waived-injured LB Brandon Williams (shoulder) and WR Stephen Williams (Achilles).

Haggans, 35, played the first eight years of his NFL career with the Steelers before playing the past four seasons in Arizona. He was re-signed by the team this past June. He has collected 46½ sacks in his 12 NFL seasons.
