Center Casey Cizikas won a race to a loose puck behind the net and backhanded it in front where Clutterbuck beat Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby with a one-timer.

Clutterbuck nearly had a second goal two minutes later, but Holtby saved his shorthanded breakaway.
