Canucks sign defenseman Barker

Defenseman Cam Barker signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, the team announced.
The Canucks did not disclose financial terms, but reports indicated it was a one-year, $700,000 deal.
Barker, 26, played in 25 games for the Edmonton Oilers last season and had one goal and an assist. In 296 career games in the NHL, Barker has 21 goals and 73 assists.
During the NHL lockout, Barker played for the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League and had three goals and five assists.
