Forward Blake Geoffrion, the grandson of Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion, signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Monday. It is a two-way deal that will pay him $803,250 in the NHL, according to RDS.
Geoffrion was obtained in a trade from the Nashville Predators for defenseman Hal Gill last season. He had two goals while with the Canadiens last season and three assists while with Nashville.
He won the Hobey Baker Award as the top player in the NCAA in 2010 while at Wisconsin.
