It’s playoff time, which means it’s time for markets involved in the chase for the Stanley Cup to pop out their anthems to get fans hyped up.

Now typically the anthems are of the pop, rap or rock variety, as we’ve showcased here over the years. But in Calgary, one group does it a little different.

Please enjoy the Cowtown Opera and their own unique spin on things.

Two of the lyrical highlights, as performed by Michelle Minke, Tony Rino, Melissa Jackson, Eli Yon and Bethany Yon:

“Playoffs are here, let’s drink a ton of beer”

“The Flames have all the luck / The Oilers suck / The Flames will win the Cup”

“Moose / Geo / 3 M /It’s in the bag”

“We’re just hoping to really bring light to opera and for people to have fun hearing our anthem and maybe singing along,” said Minke, who founded the Cowtown Opera, to the Calgary Sun.

This isn’t the first time the Cowtown Opera has put their operatic support behind the Flames. They released their song, “Never Quit” before Calgary’s 2015 playoff run, which saw the team advance to the second round. That song also included references to drinking “a ton of beer.”

It’s clear the people at the Cowtown Opera know how to enjoy the playoffs.
