Buffalo Bills at San Francisco 49ers Week 5 Injury Report: Fan’s Review

Yahoo Contributor Network

In this Week 5 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers (3-1) will host the Buffalo Bills (2-2). While the 49ers are coming off a shutout win over the New York Jets, the Bills are coming off a loss where they allowed 52 points to the New England Patriots. Here's a look at the injuries sustained by both teams for this Week 5 contest.

Out for Bills: T Cordy Glenn (ankle), DE Spencer Johnson (ankle), G Kraig Urbik (ankle)

The Bills offensive line is banged up and will be missing two important pieces in left tackle Glenn and right guard Urbik. Johnson, who played hurt against the New England Patriots last week, has four tackles on the season. Chris Hairston will sub for Glenn, Alex Carrigton will sub for Johnson, and Chad Rinehart will sub for Urbik.

Questionable for Bills: S Jairus Byrd (hip), WR Ruvell Martin (ankle), G Chad Rinehart (calf)

Byrd's hip pointer injury is the most crucial this week, but he is expected to play. Martin missed the last two games and will see most of his time on special teams if he is active. With Urbik out, Rinehart's health will be important at the right guard position due to the team's multiple injuries on the offensive line.

Questionable for 49ers: RB Brandon Jacobs (knee), CB Carlos Rogers (ankle), NT Isaac Sopoaga (ankle, knee)

Ted Ginn Jr. is no longer on the injured list after returning punts in Week 4 against the New York Jets. Although both limited in practice, both Jacobs and Sopoaga should be active this week. Rogers was limited in practice all week but shows no signs of missing the game as well.

Probable for Bills: TE Scott Chandler (head), WR Donald Jones (head)

Both Chandler and Jones are key weapons in the offense for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. While Chandler is the primary target for Fitzpatrick in the red zone, Jones starts opposite of Stevie Johnson and is another one of the team's main offensive options. Neither player have demonstrated concussion issues.

Probable for 49ers: LB Navorro Bowman (shoulder), P Andy Lee (hand)

Lee remains listed as probable due to his thumb injury. As for Bowman, he has been limited in practice with a non-contact jersey on and protective sleeve on his arm. Fully participating on Friday, this is a good sign for him starting this week.
