Bucs sign Demar Dotson to 4-year deal

National Football Post

Demar Dotson, at one time a raw prospect for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, claimed the starting right tackle job last season and now he’s got a pay raise as a reward.

The Bucs have signed Dotson to a four-year deal worth $4.5 million, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. The deal ensures Dotson will remain with the club through 2016 as he was entering the final year of his contract.

Dotson, a college basketball player from Southern Miss, played only one year of football in school as a defensive lineman. But he’s made the transition to the NFL nicely and replaced Jeremy Trueblood as the starter last season. We’ll see how much the 6-9, 315-pounder can continue to grow as a player.
