Bucs RG Joseph has season-ending knee injury

Right guard Davin Joseph suffered a season-ending right knee injury in the Bucs' preseason game Friday and will be placed on injured reserve, according to NFL.com.

The two-time Pro Bowl player was carted off the field after teammate Donald Penn and Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones fell on his leg.

"It really hurt," Penn told the St. Petersburg Times. "You see your best friend get hurt, and hurt very severe, and you're one of the reasons why it happened. I felt awful, very awful."

Joseph will have further tests Saturday. His backup Friday night was third-year veteran Ted Larsen, who has started 14 career games.

"Thanks for all of the support, positive vibes, and prayers. Overall, it could be worse. God has a plan. I'll be back ASAP," Joseph tweeted Friday night.
