The Buccaneers have removed OLT Donald Penn from the active/non-football-injury list Friday, three weeks after suffering a calf injury.
Penn was hurt just prior training camp while working out at home and was expected to be out for several weeks.
Although Penn can start practicing right away, he won’t play Friday against the Titans in Tampa Bay.
Penn has started every game for the Bucs the past four seasons. Demar Dotson started in the preseason opener at left tackle for Penn and is expected to take his spot once more on Friday.
The way we see it
Penn's return is a big upgrade for an expensive offensive line that is trying to jell prior to the start of the season. He healed quickly and should be ready to perhaps play in the third preseason game.
