Bryce Harper is bringing his own unique style to this year’s Fourth of July proceedings. All 29 American major-league teams will wear patriotic uniforms to mark the holiday and Harper is upping the ante with some sweet Under Armour cleats.

As you can see, Harper is paying homage to the five branches of the United States’ Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard) and still found a way to integrate the Stars and Stripes into the design. Well done.

It’s bold, but if anyone can pull it off it’s the reigning National League MVP. Look for them on Harper’s feet when the Nationals take on the Brewers on Monday and see if he can replicate the success he had on Independence Day last year. Harper set the bar high, as he smashed a home run off Madison Bumgarner using a star-spangled bat.

Bryce Harper is a lot of things and chief among them is this: he’s a proud American.
