Bryant criticizes follower for using anti-gay insult

The SportsXchange

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who was fined for directing a gay slur toward a referee last year, criticized one of his Twitter followers for using a homophobic insult toward another fan, multiple media outlets reported.

In response to a Twitter fan who tweeted to another fan, "You're gay," Bryant tweeted, "Just letting you know@PacSmoove @pookeo9 that using 'your gay' as a way to put someone down ain't ok! #notcool delete that out ur vocab."

When one of Bryant's followers reminded Bryant about the incident last April, when Bryant was fined $100,000 for using a gay slur during a nationally televised game, Bryant responded, "exactly! That wasn't cool and was ignorant on my part. I own it and learn from it and expect the same from others."
