Cleveland Browns rookie outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo will spend a second night in the hospital on Friday because of bruised lung, but he is expected to return to action in about a week.

However, Browns running back Dion Lewis will undergo surgery on his fractured left fibula, and may be out for the season, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

Both were was injured during Thursday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions. originally reported that Mingo, the sixth overall pick in this year's draft, was scheduled to leave the hospital Friday, but coach Rob Chudzinksi said he will spend another night at Cleveland Clinic.

Mingo is scheduled to have X-rays on Monday, at which point a more specific prognosis will be made. He is not expected to miss more than a week, though, according to Chudzinski.

This is relatively good news for the Browns, who suffered a host of injuries on Thursday.

Right guard Jason Pinkston, who suffered a high ankle sprain, may be out four weeks, according to the Plain Dealer, and tight end Gary Barnidge, who has a sprained shoulder, could be back next week.
