Browns RB Richardson named in assault civil suit

The SportsXchange

Two women filed a civil lawsuit Friday against Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson and four others, claiming they were verbally and physically assaulted at Richardson's home in December, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

Richardson's brother Terrell, his girlfriend and two other women were named in the complaint.

The lawsuit claims that the incident started the night of Dec. 9 at Rumors night club in Cleveland after the Browns beat the Kansas City Chiefs. The defendants then invited Krystal Jones and Kathleen Hunter to Richardson's home in nearby Columbia Station in the early morning hours of Dec. 10.

The plaintiffs claim that Richardson became angry and cursed at the two women for "slamming a door" and "disrespecting his house" after asking them to leave.

According to the complaint, Richardson slammed his fist on the hood of Jones' vehicle, causing a dent and $1,500 in damage. He is also accused of having his girlfriend, Sevina Fatu, and two unnamed women assault the plaintiffs.

Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis said the team is "aware of the situation," but would not comment further. The Plain Dealer also placed a call to Richardson's agent.
